Making Starts for Aeroponics Systems

{ 23 comments }

Growing: basil, arugula, water cress Seeds started super fast… now we have a different problem… Corrections in the future: -grow seeds in medium that will support them for most of the first four to twelve weeks of growth or -float seed islands on tray so that the islands can be translated en masse to growth area (don’t want to lose the incredible start speed of the seeds)

Aeroponics using a humidifier system

by Brash on 03/11/2010

Aeroponics offers a number of benefits for the home grower. Days after shooting this video the humidifier/nebulizer failed. It was a 35$ investment but we’ll try again. Water cress grows very quickly. Arugula less so. Basil very slowly. A few problems -humidifier breaks -misters require high pressure water -lack of light Your results may vary… and please post them! Read more about this video and why you should be publishing your own educational materials: docs.google.com

DIY DWC/Aeroponics System

by Brash on 03/03/2010

Easy as pie to make. You will need a razor blade to cut the holes in the lid…everything else you buy at Home Depot, Petco and a Hydro Shop. I made the mistake of buying an ebb and flow system that cost me close to 0….these little bad boys cost less than each to make and are soo much easier to maintain. I recommend this system to anyone who does Hydroponics. Add SCROG and you are golden! Feel free to comment, suggest or ask.
